2018 Fine Arts Educator of the Year is

Mr. Frank Poolos

        The Stanly County Arts Council recognizes a Fine Arts Educator of the Year with the "Jim Kennedy" award, given in loving memory of James D. Kennedy, a long time Fine Arts Educator and supporter of the arts in education.  Mr. Poolos received a $250 classroom scholarship that he used to purchase music for his NSHS  and his NSMS bands.

2018 Arts Person of the Year is 

Mr. Tim Harris

  This award was created in 2014 to recognize those who have made a significant positive impact on the arts in our county, and who have worked diligently to support, promote, and create quality arts experiences for our whole community.  A $250 donation from the Arts Council is made in Mr. Harris' honor to the art(s) group of his choosing.  Mr. Harris chose the youth theater group, The Talent Company.

Do you know someone who has made a significant positive impact on the arts in Stanly County, and who has worked diligently to support, promote, and create quality arts experiences for the whole community?  Now is the time to nominate them for the ARTS Person of the Year award.  Nominator and nominees must either live or work in Stanly County.

Winner will be announced at the Celebration of the ARTS Award Ceremony, Saturday, February 16, 2019, @ 2 pm in the Auditorium of the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center, 26032 Newt Road, Albemarle, NC.
